How to Order Our Products

Terms &

Conditions 

As soon as you know the date of your party or event, please contact us. We recommend a minimum of one-week notification to complete your custom order. Please note that our weekend slots usually fill up pretty quickly. The easiest way to order any of our products is to make an order through our website (www.thecravery.co.uk) and request any personalisation or changes (may needed) at the time of check out. Or you may email (info@thecravery.co.uk) us a model product and request a quote. Or you can send us a What's App message (+447951234136), requesting a no-obligation quote, Or you can place an order through our social media pages (thecraverycakes) at the Facebook and Instagram. The total price of your order depends on the number of servings, the complexity of the design, delivery and set up at the venue (if applicable).

Payment & Deposit

Conditions 

We take payment via our website using all debit or credit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal. All orders from our website require full payment at the checkout. Any orders placed other than the website, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm an order and hold the date. The remaining 50% is due two hours before the delivery time. Two hours before the delivery, we usually send you a picture of your completed order, and "Care for Cake" leaflet.


The final balance specified on the invoice must be paid before the delivery time; otherwise, we will not be able to make the delivery. Failure to complete payment before the delivery time will result in your order being cancelled. By making a deposit payment the buyer is accepting the terms and conditions as detailed on this page.

Product Information

The images on the website are examples of our cakes and other products. All our products are handmade and can be ordered in different sizes from those shown on the website, your cake may have variations from the website image. Any description applied to the products is only given by way of identification and does not constitute a sale by description. Any image provided as part of the description of similar products is given for illustrative purposes only. Given the nature of the products, minor variations of colour, taste and design may apply.

Alteration

Conditions 

If you have any queries or need to make any changes to an order please contact us immediately. Alterations and amendments must be submitted in writing. We will assess the request for an alteration, and endeavour to make alteration where possible dependant on the design and amount of notice given. We will let you know its effect on the price and any agreed timetable. Accepting any alterations is at the discretion of The Cravery. Alterations requested less than 3 days before completion may be subject to a surcharge. It is your responsibility to check any quotes and invoices thoroughly before making payment. We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control compromise the quality of the finished product. e.g. weather conditions. You will be notified of any such changes and we will endeavour to keep any changes minimal.

Delivery & Collection Service

Conditions 

We offer hand delivery in all over Birmingham (i.e. B postcodes) throughout the week. We will always endeavour to deliver within the given time slot, however unfortunately delivery timings cannot be guaranteed. Refunds will not be given for delayed deliveries. If in the unlikely event the delivery is delayed, we will always endeavour to deliver the cake to you as close as possible to the given delivery. It is the customer's responsibility to choose the correct delivery options. We only deliver at Birmingham B postcodes. That is stated on all our product web pages  and delivery page. Our standard delivery (costs £4.99) timings are from 9:00 to 18:00 hrs. One-hour delivery slot is sent the night before the delivery due date. 

 

A precise delivery service is where our customers can choose a one-hour delivery slot between 9:00 to 16:00 hrs., Sundays to Thursdays only. The Birmingham Venues (costs £9.99) delivery option allows customers to have cakes delivered to their preferred venue anywhere in the Birmingham B postcode area. This service is not a precise delivery. Upon receiving your booking details at the venue, we will contact your venue manager and arrange a delivery considering the venue's opening timings and availability.  

 

If you have requested a precise delivery, or a delivery to a venue, and have not selected the correct delivery option, at the checkout. We will endeavor to contact you before delivery is due. However this not always possible due to the high number of orders we receive. It is the customer's responsibility to assure that we deliver to their postcode or they can collect their cake from our collection point in St Paul's Square, Birmingham. We assume no responsibility for any loss or damages caused by customer's arranging a party expecting a delivery that is not been paid for. We will not issue any refunds upon errors or misrepresentations done by the customers. 

 

A cake that cannot be delivered or collected due to an error or misrepresentation from the customer, shall be given to a charity of our or customer's choice on the following day. Due to the perishable nature of the cake, we will not be able to store your cake for more than 24 hrs. from the delivery or collection slot given. â€‹

Damages

We cannot be held liable for any damages to the cake or products we have delivered once we have delivered, set up the cake at the venue or delivery location and received a signature for the safe receipt of the goods on our delivery note (we will deliver with a delivery note). you are ordering from further away, out of Birmingham (i.e. B postcodes)

 

We offer prearranged collection at Birmingham St. Paul's Square. A cake collected from the Cravery requires a signed delivery note by the person in charge to say that the cake has received in perfect condition. If the cake or products are collected from us, we cannot be held liable for any damages to the cake or products once you sign the delivery note.


The collection vehicle should have a flat surface and be clean and tidy. Please do not place the cake on a seat in the car, seats are slanted and can damage the cake. The cake should be placed either in the boot or the footwell of the car on a non-slip mat. Extra care should be taken when driving as some elements may be delicate. The Cravery Cakes cannot take any responsibility for damage to cakes when collected and transported by the customers. The cake or products can be very fragile so we advise to drive very slowly and carefully. All our products are fragile and require care and attention when handling, storing and displaying. Please pay careful attention to our "Care for Cake" instructions that will be provided with the cake.

After Delivery

All cakes and other products should be placed on a flat surface and stored at a refrigerator in the box provided. Freezing our cakes or other products is not recommended. Goods placed outside are liable to react to the temperature. In hot or humid weather there is the possibility of sugar decorations melting or damage to goods. Please note, we do not provide cake tables, tablecloths or cutting knives. It is your responsibility to provide these or check with the venue to ensure these items are provided. Please note all our products should be consumed within 2 days, this is advisory only. Please note, once cakes have been cut, the shelf life will be reduced. We recommend extreme caution if you are considering a cake decorated with chocolate for a summer party or event (May-September). We cannot accept responsibility for any melting of the cake once it has left our possession, as we have no control over the environment/venue temperature. However, we can advise you of designs that are less susceptible to melting and do everything within our control to reduce the impact on the cake.

Allergens

The Cravery Bakery is NOT an allergy-free kitchen. We cannot guarantee that our products are free from ingredients that may affect those with food allergies. At the Cravery we recognise the seriousness of food allergies and we recommend that you consider our allergens information before you place an order. You have agreed to notify your guests of allergen risks.. We reserve the right to decline any orders for clients with serious food allergies. The Cravery Cakes will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to our products. Our cake products may contain wheat/cereals containing gluten, eggs, milk, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, mustard, soybeans, lupin, sulphur dioxide/sulphites. The Cravery’s cake products are freshly prepared in the bakery, and our ingredients come from factories that handle other allergens. Whilst we and our ingredients suppliers do take precautions, we cannot guarantee that any product is free from allergens due to the risk of cross-contamination.

Non-Edible Items, Ornaments, Toppers, Flowers

Conditions 

All ornaments and toppers should be brought separately or add at the checkout while placing the order. The cost of such items is not included in the price shown on the website. We reserve the right not to place ornaments on your cake if The Cravery feels that doing so will cause damage to your cake. Please keep in mind that some flowers are harmful when eaten, and caution should be taken when selecting flowers to insert into cake. The Cravery Cakes is not liable for any damage or illness caused by floral inserts into the cake. Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items; it is the client‟s responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. Support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, Swarovski crystals, flower picks & flower tape etc.

Colours & Design

Conditions 

Whilst an exact match of a provided picture cannot be guaranteed we will endeavour to meet your requirement as far as possible. Creating a cake is an art and may be subject to variations. This also applies to food colourings and icings. Colour matching is not a precise science and different sugar substrates take colour differently. We will do everything possible to make substrates match to each other and to match provided colour swatches, but sometimes it is not possible to make a 100% perfect colour match and some colours are just not achievable using food-grade dyes. We can only create your finished order from what we interpret from the wording of your order; therefore you must check everything is correct. We cannot match a “verbal” colour or a colour sent via an electronic device, as all monitors display colour differently. It may not be possible to create exact specifications when modelling food. However, we will work with you to ensure you are happy with the design.

Cake Stand, Hoop, & Other Items Hire

Please note all hired items must be returned to us within 2 days of the event, please do not leave any items at the venue unless otherwise agreed with us. Failure to return a cake stand to us within 2 days or in cases of loss or damaged we will issue an invoice for the replacement cost, this is to be paid within 3 days.

Photography

Conditions 

We will photograph all our cakes and reserves the right to take and use photographs of your cake(s) and desserts, before, during and after set up, including scene type photos of the event location, to use for marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes, without compensation to you.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Conditions 

The Cravery will not tolerate any abuse in any shape or form towards our staff including delivery drivers. Our staff aim to be polite, helpful, and sensitive to all customers' individual needs and circumstances. You may request any reasonable adjustments where required. While we work hard to be a fully inclusive bakery, we WILL NOT tolerate any form of abuse including persistent or unrealistic demands that cause stress to our staff. Such behaviour and violation of any of our terms and conditions may result in your order being cancelled.

Refunds & Cancellations

Conditions 

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances due to any loss of business arising from turning away other bookings on that date. We cannot refund the cost of any orders cancelled with less than 48hrs notice. Orders paid in full and cancelled with more than 48hrs notice will receive a partial refund of 50% of the total amount paid. In the very unlikely event (unforeseen circumstances) that we have to cancel your order for any reason, then we will give you as much notice as possible, and discuss the matter with you and try to agree on a suitable alternative. If you do not wish to accept our suggested alternative, then we will refund the full price to you.
