  • Are you available on my party date?
    You can select cakes from our "Next Day" collection, which showcases cakes with minimal designs. Alternatively, most of our cakes can be ordered with a 72-hour notice. If longer preparation times are required, they will be specified in the product description. We recommend booking your party cake as early as possible, as weekends tend to get fully booked quite fast.
  • How much will my cake cost?
    This one doesn’t come with a straight answer. The prices shown on the website are fixed and slight changes like colour, edible print, flower changes can be made without any additional cost involved. Made to order cakes we make are bespoke. If you describe what you would like and let us know how many guests it will need to serve, we will be able to provide you with an estimate. The final price will depend on all kinds of factors; the size of the cake, the number of tiers, decorations, and the amount of time we estimate it will take to design and create, delivery charges etc.
  • How do I order a cake or cake product?
    Well, there are three options. On our website, you are very welcome to look through the different models, we created in the past, simply select one of the cakes or cake products you liked, and place an order. Or you could select one of the cakes or cake products you liked, from any of our product pages and place the order. Then customise by letting us know the changes you would like to make. Usually, we do not charge you extra for slight changes you make like colour change, edible print change etc. Or you could order a custom design bespoke cake. Please contact us via WhatsApp text service, and provide us with pictures or new ideas, we will work together to make it happen.
  • How many guests, can be served?"
    Please note, these number of servings are intended as a guide only. 6"x 2 Layers - 13cm tall : 15 - 20 6"x 3 Layers - 19cm tall : 35 - 40 8"x 2 Layers - 11cm tall : 25 - 30 8"x 3 Layers - 18cm tall : 50 - 55 10"x 3 Layers- 17cm tall: 75 - 80 8"x2 & 6"x2 - 25cm tall : 40 - 50 8"x3 & 6"x3 - 38cm tall : 85 - 95 10"x3 & 8"x3-36cm tall:125-135 Disclaimer: To achieve the specified servings mentioned above, for our 6"x 2 and 8"x 2 layer cakes, it is necessary to cut them into equal slices with a width of 5cm and a length of 14cm. For our 6"x3, 8"x3 layer cakes, it is essential to cut them into equal slices with a width of 5cm and a length of 9cm. Additionally, our 10"x3 layer cake should be sliced equally with a width of 5cm and a length of 7cm to achieve the maximum number of slices as described.   • Are you a registered food business?
    We are a fully registered and insured cake maker. Just like any other professional cake company, we are monitored and inspected by food safety agencies. We are a private Ltd company, company house registered, in the name of The Cravery Cakes Ltd. We are known as The Cravery, which is a registered trademark with UK Intellectual Property Office and protected by The Trademarks Act.
  • Did you make all the cakes pictured on your website?
    Most of the cake pictures shown on our website are made by our bakers only. However, we would use examples of cake designs that we are willing and able to create just like other cake makers.
  • Can I have different flavours in each tier or layer?
    You can mix and match flavours in a multi-tier cake for example a three-tier wedding cake. However, we cannot provide different layers of flavours on a single-tier party cake.
  • Do you use buttercream or fondant icing?
    In general, we use buttercream icing. and it is much cheaper than fondant and sugar work as the level of skill and time it takes to decorate is lower and buttercream cakes taste much better than fondant icing. We offer fondant and sugar work upon request.
  • Which is better, buttercream or fondant?"
    Most of our cakes are buttercream cakes. Certain designs can only work in fluffy buttercream and others, generally the more complex designs, that only work in firmer fondant. In addition, in most cases, fondant is an upcharge. In general buttercream cakes taste much better than fondant icing.
  • Do you offer nut-free or gluten-free cakes?
    No, at present we do not cater nut-free, or gluten-free cakes. Our cake products may contain wheat/cereals containing gluten, eggs, milk, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, mustard, soybeans, lupin, sulphur dioxide/sulphites. If you have an allergy, we ask that you consider our allergens information before placing an order. Cravery’s cake products are freshly prepared in the bakery, and our ingredients come from factories that handle other allergens. Whilst we and our ingredients suppliers do take precautions, we cannot guarantee that any product is free from allergens due to the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Are your cakes  Halal, Kosher or Vegan?"
    Our products do not contain any animal fat and meat products or alcohol, which is generally accepted by people from most faiths. Our cakes contain eggs, butter, milk, and double cream. Please contact us before placing an order if you have a special dietary requirement.
  • Who provide the flowers and cake decorations?
    Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible decorations and ornaments. Mostly we provide these decorations and the price is included in the cake quote. There are special occasions where the customer would like to place a specific item (e.g. a favourite toy or a special gift) on the cake. We would ask you to provide this. We would advise you of a date and time by which the item is needed.
  • Are your fresh flowers or non-edible decorations treated properly?
    Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items. Extra attention is given to the way we insert the flowers into your cake. We would wrap the stems of flowers or would use a straw pipe to avoid any cross-contamination. We would disinfect any toy or ornament you wanted to keep on top of your cake. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure these are removed before consumption. Please read the 'Care for Cake' and 'Non-Edible Cake Decorations' guide carefully before cutting your cake. These leaflets will be provided along with delivery time slots.
  • Are the pictures edible?
    In general, most pictures are printed with edible ink and printed on thin icing sheets that are also edible. There are special circumstances at which, we cannot produce edible print due to special colours or brand markings etc. In such cases, we will advise you, that we are using non-edible prints and how to remove them before cutting the cake.
  • Can you copy this cake (Photo given scenario)?
    Cake decorating is an art form that encompasses many skills and techniques. We always say to customers that we are happy to take inspiration from a given cake photo. We do not guarantee or give any promises for copying someone else work. We always have our touches that make our cakes unique and different from other cake makers.
  • What is a cake topper?
    A cake topper is a printed/cut cardstock decoration that contains a short message and is placed on top of a cake on a plastic stick. As the name suggests, tops the cake. It is a simple way to add a message to a cake. You can have a standard cake topper saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" for £2 or a personalised topper saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" with name and/or age, which is £4. We provide cake toppers with minimal designs at a reasonable cost. They are loved by our customers.
  • Do you offer polystyrene tiers?
    One great way to save money on tiered cakes is to have one or two polystyrene tiers that look just like the cake once decorated. We offer this service, so, please ask before placing your custom order.
  • Can you create a dessert table?
    ​We can make a dessert table as per your specific need which will go along with your party theme. Or you can choose from some of our mouth-watering dessert table ideas that will make your party that extra bit sweeter.
  • When do you require full payment?
    We take payment via our website using all debit or credit cards, bank transfers, Klarna and PayPal. All orders from our website require full payment at the checkout.
  • Do you offer an instalment option?
    Paying for your cake in instalments can ease the financial pressure on you of having to pay upfront. Our website has an option of payment in three instalments using Klarna or PayPal. Please select Klarna or PayPal at the checkout. We do not offer instalment payments for custom-made cakes. If you have any financial difficulty, please feel free to ask. We could process your order using one of the cakes with the same price on our website and still offer you the Klarna or PayPal service required.
  • What’s the cancellation policy?
    We cannot refund the cost of any orders cancelled with less than 72hrs notice. Orders paid in full and cancelled with more than 48hrs notice will receive a partial refund of 50% of the total amount paid.
  • Can I negotiate the price quoted?
    We compare our prices with other cake suppliers on the market, we often give you a very competitive quote for your party cake. We calculate the price of the cake depending on many factors; the size of the cake, the number of tiers, decorations, and the amount of time we estimate it will take to design and create, delivery charges etc. Once a quote is given, there will be no room for negotiation, as we provide you with the best possible price.
  • Will the cake be delivered? where? what time?
    We offer hand delivery all over Birmingham (i.e. B postcodes) throughout the week. All our deliveries are made between 09:00 to 18:00 hrs Monday to Sunday. We deliver to your doorstep or a venue requested. You will receive a system-generated one-hour delivery slot by email. Please check your email inbox and spam folder on the due date. If you wish to get a preferred one-hour precise delivery time, please select 'PRECISE DELIVERY' at the checkout. If you have specific delivery instructions, you can add these to the order. We will always endeavour to deliver within the given time slot, however unfortunately delivery timings cannot be guaranteed. Refunds will not be given for delayed deliveries except for precise delivery. If in the unlikely event the delivery is delayed, we will always endeavour to deliver the cake to you as close as possible to the given delivery time.
  • Can I collect my cake?
    Yes, If you wish to pick up your cake in Birmingham, you can do so at our factory door from 9:00 to 9:30 hrs. every day. Just select 'COLLECTION POINT BIRMINGHAM' at checkout. When you arrive, please park in one of the front parking bays and ring the bell for our attention. You can collect your cake any day of the week. Please remember to bring a copy of your confirmation email with you when you come to collect.
  • Do you help with cake setup up on the day?
    We offer cakes a maximum of three-tier tall and it comes fully assembled and ready to be displayed. We do not offer a specialised cake set up service. However, the delivery drivers are instructed to carry the cake to the display area in a public venue or restaurant. Our drivers will not be able to enter a party at a private venue or house.
  • Will a cake stand and cake knife or candles be provided?
    Most venues will have a cake stand and cake knife and we do not offer them. Some cakes may need a hoop or other items to be hired. In such cases, we will give you clear instructions regarding the storage and return of the hired item.
  • What if the cake is damaged during the transition?
    Our delivery drivers are fully trained to carry all cakes we make at our bakery. It does take reasonably careful driving to deliver a cake as well as an expert way of packing them into a delivery vehicle. While it’s a rare occurrence, accidents can happen. Drivers are trained and instructed to look for possible damages before delivering the cakes. If the cake product(s) has been damaged during delivery, The Cravery will not deliver the cake product(s) and we will repair any damage before re-delivering. We always recommend inspecting the cake product(s) before accepting the order. Please note that The Cravery accepts no responsibility for the mishandling of your cake product(s) once delivery has been made. Please note that The Cravery accepts no responsibility for any damage caused during onward journeys you may make with your cake product(s) after delivering the order.
  • How long can the cakes be left unrefrigerated?
    It is suggested that the cakes are only left out at room temperature for a maximum of one hour – and obviously not near a radiator, window or hot objects! Please do make sure, however, that they are at room temperature when eaten.
  • What happens if I’m not happy with your cake or service?
    In the unlikely event that you need to make a complaint about your cake product(s) or service(s) received, the complaint policy and procedures will apply to all bookings. Please ask for the complaint policy and the procedures stated in the policy must be followed in order that your complaint may be fully investigated and resolved.
